Metallica

Apologies for the lack of blogging recently, I was away with friends for a week and then suffered a few days of holiday blues! But back to work and here is another great bargain from H&M...

I found these jeans in their recent summer sale, it was one of those items that I had looked at a few times but always thought, "will I actually wear them?" But when I last went in H&M they were in the sale for £3! At that point I thought; regardless of wearing them, they're so cheap! (I'm so lead by price I know). I did however find a time to wear them, and only a week or so later... Yay!

Gravity Defying Shoes

It all began with Lady Gaga... She has been photographed wearing some real mind boggling shoes!
The pair of shoes worn by Lady Gaga in the first picture were designed by a man called Noritaka Tatehana; he took his inspiration from traditional 'geta' geisha shoes to create his 10 inch (or higher!) wedges. Lady Gaga pretty much boosted his brand single handed, which now means that his shoes sell for around $15,000 a pair!!

Noritaka Tatehana: "My work became an icon. It worked not only as branding for me. It also became part of her branding".

As with all luxury, expensive designs, they eventually reach the high street at an affordable price for all us regular bods! Amy Childs was pictured yesterday wearing a spectacular cream pair of studded wedges in a similar style (not as extreme of course!), these were from her cousin Harry Derbridge's shop 'Harry's World' in Essex.

If you wanted to purchase a pair similar to what Lady Gaga and Amy Childs then www.boohoo.com have some great shoes.

Scarf Print

The scarf print - an intricate and clever pattern - was all over the Spring/Summer '12 catwalk, in a variety of garments and colours. I personally love this trend, so colourful and fun, yet glamorous! (Especially in a silk fabric).

My jersey scarf print top was a gift for my birthday; its super comfy and can be worn with or without a waist belt. Here I teamed it with a pair of plain dark skinny jeans and a woven leather waist belt.

Here's a few examples of how you can wear one of this summer's key trends...

Red Soles

Almost every girl out there aspires to own a pair of Christian Louboutin's famous red sole shoes; but the problem is they are pretty pricey! I would love a pair myself but they are slightly out of a student's budget! But earlier today when I was just checking out all my favourite online shopping websites, I found that missguided.co.uk have a great range of Louboutin look-a-likes for a fraction of the price (and they offer 10% Student Discount, result!). Some of these shoes will definitely be going on my wishlist!

School Girl Frills

I like to wear trainer socks with my Converses, but I hate it when you can see the sock sticking out the top! So today I was window shopping on Topshop.com and stumbled across some cute frilly ankle socks; they remind me of my days at Primary School!

I think next time I make a visit to Topshop I will definitely pick up a pair of these! They can be found on their website here.

Northern Travels Cont.

Here is a couple of the outfits I wore whilst I was away this weekend. We had some lovely weather whilst we were in Lincoln so I decided to wear my vintage pale yellow Versace jeans with my new mint green blazer; I love this blazer, whether its jeans and a t-shirt or an LBD this jacket always seems to match!

Blazer - Zara
Jeans - Versace
Shoes - Birkinstock
Handbag - Can't really remember!!
Sunglasses - H&M
Rings - H&M

For a day of walking around York I opted for a Ramones grey tee with skinny dark jeans and a trusty pair of Converse! Casual yet perfect for the up and down weathers of the UK.

My Northern Travels!

Ok so I was having some holiday blues, so me and the boyfriend organised a few days in Lincoln and York for a little getaway of sightseeing, shopping and afternoon tea! Here's a few photos of our travels...
